It use its claws to kill the animals on the island and feed there young or keep it all to themselves if they are alone. The Sumatran tiger is a Carnivore it eats ungulates, fish, birds, and monkeys. A carnivore is an animal that only eats meat. An ungulate is a miniature horse that lives in Sumatra. The Sumatran tiger can use its fast reflexes to win a fight for food against other animals. The Sumatran tigers hunts alone or by themselves. The female takes care of the baby or guards the home while the male Sumatran tiger hunts for food.
Life Cycle
They live 15 to 20 years mostly about 12 years in the wild and about 20 years in captivity. Some times they only live up to five years old because they have no one to help them fight off the humans that hunt them down in the wild. The mother at home would always protect them. Captivity means they are in a safe place.
Reproduction
The mother can get pregnant with up to 4 cubs and at 2 years old or 24 to 30 months old the cubs become independent. After four months the mother can give birth again to another cub. There has bin a mother in the San Diego Zoo that has just given birth to two little cubs I have a video of the cubs on the pictures page.
